Bishop Nolan T. Torbert

~ TDHC LEAD Pastor ~

Dr. Nolan T. Torbert is an Accomplished Pastor, Leader and Instructor who effectively utilize his leadership abilities and experiences to constantly increase the knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to strengthen the community.   For over thirty (30) years, he has allowed God to teach him how to bless others by maximizing leadership abilities and demonstrating administrative abilities.  His teaching, team-building gifts, experience, and spiritual expertise are all examples of his devotion and dedication to the only true and living God.  He is the Founder and Senior Pastor of True Deliverance Holiness Church and President of Changing Hearts and Destiny, (CDC), 501C-3 Outreach Ministry, Auburn, Alabama. He is the Overseer of Refuge Temple International, Chicago, Illinois, True Deliverance Ministries, Montgomery, Alabama, Word of Faith Apostolic Faith, and Fresh Start Ministry, both in Opelika, Alabama.  He also serves as Spiritual Father and Mentor of several other Ministries. Bishop Torbert serves as the Assistant Presiding Ambassador of Alabama Region Churches for Creflo Dollar Ministerial Association (CDMA), which consists of over forty churches.

Dr. Torbert is a Member of the Auburn Chamber Commerce, Cadence Bank CRA Advisory Board Member, Auburn University Grief and Support Committee Member, former Committee Member of the Chambers Economic & Development, Vice President of Auburn Housing Authority Board, Vice President of the Auburn Day Care Center, former Board Member of EAMC Parrish Nurse Advisory Committee, President of Lee Russell Council Government Advisory Board, Secretary/Treasurer Auburn Community Development Corporation, and a Board Member of the India Foreign Mission. 

 

A native of Beauregard Community, Dr. Torbert is a proud graduate of Beauregard High School.  He attended Southern Union Community College.  He also received several certificates through Auburn University Continuing Education Courses.  To strengthen his biblical knowledge, he enrolled in Seminary and graduated from the Apostolic Bible Teaching Institute, where he received a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, Doctorate of Divinity, and Doctorate of Theology Degree.

 

Dr. Torbert is truly a servant leader of Auburn-Opelika and surrounding communities.  He is married to Gail D. Torbert (a retiree from Auburn University), and they are proud parents of one son, Nolan, Jr., an AU Graduate and one daughter, Deana, a Troy University Graduate, one grandson, Nolan, III.
